Warm water trade wind sailing at its best. With 15 â 22 knots, sailing in Mauritius can be considered true champagne sailing. Grand Baie Yacht Club, founded in 1941, is the base for the competitive keel boat fleet. Regattaâs include windward leeward racing, round the island races, and multi-stop racing. From hobie-cats to 50 footers itâs easy to see why the sailing here is hard to beat.
More of a cruiser? No problem. With Flat Island, Gabriel Island and Coine Del Mare, all less than an hourâs sail away. Snorkeling and sundowners here donât get much better. For the more adventurous, why not visit the untouched archipelago of St. Branden. Only a few days sail away, this is true untouched paradise.
